Campfire Season!

Campfire Season

Campfire Season!

The air is getting warmer, the sun is staying up just a little longer, and you’re beginning to crave that familiar scent of pine and woodsmoke. Campfire season is officially here. There is something inherently magical about gathering around a crackling fire with friends and family, but for us guitarists, it’s more than just a social gathering—it’s our time to shine.

The Ultimate Performance Stage

Forget the recital halls and the formal practice chairs. The campfire is arguably the best “venue” in the world. It’s intimate, relaxed, and remarkably forgiving. When you’re sitting on a log with a guitar in your lap, the barrier between “performer” and “audience” disappears. You aren’t just playing a song; you are creating the soundtrack for a memory. Whether it’s a quiet instrumental as the embers glow or a loud, slightly out-of- tune sing-along, the guitar brings people together in a way that no other instrument can.

A New Way to Learn This Summer

For my students, this summer presents a unique opportunity to take your skills out of the bedroom and into the wild. Learning to play while distracted by the crackle of wood, the laughter of family, and the occasional marshmallow roasting is the ultimate test of “muscle memory.” It encourages you to simplify your playing, focus on rhythm, and most importantly, learn how to engage with the people around you. This summer, we aren’t just practicing scales; we are practicing connection.

Get Ready for Mid-May!

To help you lead the music this season, I am thrilled to announce some exciting resources coming your way. Over the last few months I’ve launched a new series of YouTube Shorts featuring quick, easy-to-follow tutorials for some easy campfire songs. Even more exciting: in mid-May 2026, I will be releasing a brand-new Campfire Song Book exclusively for my students! This book is curated with simplified chords and strumming patterns designed specifically to get you playing confidently by the fire. Stay tuned for the digital drop, and let’s make 2026 the year of the campfire concert!
